Yesterday, on the same day when it practically lost confidence in the Assembly, the government adopted an amendment at a telephone session, which envisages a new indebtedness of 900 million euros, said the Social Democrat MP Damir Šehović.
“Great!!! And, it informs the deputies about that on the day of the budget vote? This does not exist in North Korea either,” Sehovic wrote on Twitter.

“It doesn't matter what the purpose of the debt is, nor what will be used to refinance the debt, the essence is that it is absolutely inadmissible for this topic to be opened on the day of the vote on the budget, at 5 to 12. At the same time, it is opened by the Government, which essentially lost its legitimacy because it was left without support yesterday”, stated Šehović.

SDP on indebtedness: Government without legitimacy proposes scandalous decisions
By demanding that the Assembly, without any prior discussion and on the day of the budget vote, approve a new loan of 900 million euros, this Government without legitimacy is preparing another in a series of scandalous, harmful and non-transparent decisions, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) said.
The head of the SDP Media Pool, Mirko Stanić, reminded that the Government of Montenegro this morning sent amendments for urgent adoption by which the state is borrowing another 900 million this year.
“Probably a billion euros (with interest) of new debt is required at a time when it is clear that this prime minister and this government do not trust the parliamentary majority, and ministers boast of “incredible results” while repaying another with one loan.
Although after the indebtedness of 750 million, which will reach 890 million with interest, it was announced that there will be no new indebtedness this year, it is clear that no one can rely on such promises”, states Stanić.
He added that the debt, in the amount equal to half of the annual budget, without any public debate, without dialogue and literally on the day of adoption, is the best indicator of the collapse of state finances that the “experts” led to.
“In this way, an independent trade shop is not indebted, and not a serious state, and the amount of money that is raised is equal to the costs of building the first section of the highway.
That is why we want to make it clear to the representatives of the parliamentary majority – if you support this new task, which you probably learned about this morning, then you take full political responsibility for everything that the Government of Zdravko Krivokapic is doing,” Stanic said.
