A disturbing video is circulating on social networks, showing police arresting the single father of two children, Tomaš Bošković, while employees of the Center for Social Work in Podgorica intended to hand over the children to their mother against their will. The video is disturbing and shocking, which is why we decided not to publish it!
“What kind of work of a labor and social care officer in Podgorica. In front of my house, in front of the whole neighborhood, yesterday the police came to arrest a single father of two children and to kidnap the children and hand them over to their mother, against their wishes. You can see the reaction of the children on the video, this is a disaster, what kind of mother is this?!”, it was published on social networks.
“Crime of people from social Podgorica,” said eyewitnesses.
Citizens have launched an online petition for the Urgent Procedure for Returning Children to Father Tomaš Bošković. The explanation of the petition states that the mother left the children when they were small, went with another man, without a day of alimony payment. The father, as they say, is a favorite in the neighborhood, hardworking and picking wood to feed the family. Because of that action, he was sentenced to a month in prison, children were arrested in front of him, and in this way the “social service” takes away the children.
“The girl managed to escape and hid in the house of a neighbor who did not allow her to be taken away, and the boy was taken away. Please sign and let us all try together to save them and alleviate the trauma of these children”, reads the explanation of the petition.
On the occasion of this case, the Municipal Board of the Movement for Changes in Podgorica announced that yesterday was really a tragic day for Montenegro, and a lot of facts and unpleasant events speak in favor of that.
“As someone who was affected by the deprivation of children from their father, we must say that unfortunately there is no justice and that this is an alarm for everyone to become aware as a society. The father who took over the raising of his children, after leaving by the mother, did physical work, more precisely picking wood to feed them. Unfortunately, the father was sentenced to a month in prison for the work he did, which is in fact prohibited by law, but while the concessionaires destroy the natural treasures of Montenegro and enjoy their millions while walking, one father is left without his children, without basic means for a normal life”, said PzP Podgorica.
They point out that the social policy in Montenegro is systemically bad, unregulated, people can hardly feed their families and for that reason they are forced to do various jobs.
“This is the last moment for us to become aware, and put an end to bad politics in this sector as well as in all others. This is the moment when it is necessary to arrest criminals and dedicate themselves to them, confiscate their criminally acquired property, and help social cases that are in the gray zone in order to feed their children. The service is there to work for the benefit of the children and not against the feelings and desires of the children. This is not just about politics, about inherited bad practice, this is about children begging the Social Service to leave them to their father. This is about splitting the hearts and souls of two children, this is about urgently changing the policy of the Center for Social Work, this is about young lives. We must not allow the suffering and pain of these children, we must not be silent, the competent institutions must react”, stated PZP.
They call on the Minister of Finance and Social Welfare, Milojko Spajić, to finally take matters into his own hands, to become aware, not to engage in a political story, but after the recording that was made public in which the cries of children are heard and they are asked not to separate them from their father, put an end to the abuse and thus shows that he really stands for the rights of all in Montenegro in public and not through Twitter and Instagram.
“This video shows that social workers do not have training days on how to act in these very difficult situations, which is another indicator that this difficult and very emotional job is not in the apartment to work. We also call on Minister Spajić to communicate with the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, in order to find the best solution, and that is to give the father a pardon so that he can be with his children”, the Podgorica PzP Board concludes.
Krivokapic ordered that the case of Boskovic be investigated and that all those who acted unprofessionally be sanctioned
Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic said that he had ordered the Minister of Finance and Social Welfare, Milojko Spajic, to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the case in which the children were taken from their father, Tomas Boskovic, who was arrested.
– I just finished a telephone conversation with Minister Spajić and ordered him to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the events with the children, as well as to sanction everyone who did not act professionally. The welfare of children is in the first place and that must be a priority for everyone – the Prime Minister said on Twitter.
Ministry of Interior: Bošković did not act according to the decision and did not allow the mother to see the children!
Regarding the video that disturbed the Montenegrin public, the Ministry of Internal Affairs appealed to the competent authorities to use all legal possibilities and to enable the release of their father Tomas Boskovic in the interest of the children.
– On this occasion, we appeal to parents to respect court decisions and to have before them only and exclusively the interest of their children. For the sake of the public, we note that Tomaš Bošković did not continuously act in accordance with the decision which enables the mother to maintain personal contact with the children at her address without hindrance – said the Ministry of the Interior.
They point out that the police acted legally, on the urgent order of the court.
– We emphasize that the police, according to the court order, acted exclusively towards the father, i.e. Mr. Bošković, and not towards the children who were on the spot. In such sensitive situations, it is not enough to act only legally, but necessarily with special sensibility and humanity – it is stated in the announcement of the Ministry of the Interior.
