The Democratic Front obviously thinks that the citizens of this country are crazy, deaf and blind, and with all that consumables whose future means nothing and does not make sense to fulfill their corrupt ambitions, the Democrats said, reacting to the statement of DF MP Jovan Vučurović. Earlier today, Vučurović announced that the leader of the Democrats and the President of the Assembly, Aleksa Bečić, deserves to be removed because he supports the Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnić and the failure to schedule a parliamentary session at which the Prosecutorial Council would be elected. Democrats are telling the DF: “Take down the government, if you can”.
“This is the purpose of banal lies, deceptions and vulgar blackmail, which they are still trying to market. But let's see what this is really about. First, who knows what is in the drawers, when Andrija Mandić is scared of the independent prosecution?! There are all opportunities for the DF to act from the position of blackmail, conditioning the entire process of electing the Prosecutorial Council with one candidate,” the Democrats state.
According to them, they have blocked the whole process, which must be based on consensus.
“DF, SNP and URA propose five candidates, Democrats accept four, emphasizing that we will not agree to work as the DPS did, to elect party people to the Prosecutorial Council. And then everything stops and comes to the brink of failure due to the audacity to insist on one man at all costs, instead of seeking an agreement. What is dirty blackmail when it is said “No one can imagine me as a member of the Prosecutorial Council, if it is not Nikola Bulatović, because without Nikola Bulatović that Prosecutorial Council has neither function nor meaning”?! This means only one thing: that the party wants to color the Prosecutorial Council, prevent an agreement and consensus and stop the state on the path of European integration. They will not be able to”, the Democrats say.
The DF statement, the Democrats remind us, says that the prosecutor's office is recognized as a DPS party institution.
“It's true. But imagine, now the DF wants to be the party institution of the DF. Well, it won't be able to. We have been fighting for the reform of the prosecution for years, and now we would like Andrija Mandić to cover it instead of Milo Đukanović. Like we said, he won't be able to. And then, of course, there is the insidious thesis that, beware now, “the Democrats saved Katnić”! But, let's dissect that dirty DF lie as well”, reads the statement of the Democrats.
The agreement was, the Democrats point out, that there would be no party figures.
“Democrats are not running for any party figure. DF do it. Democrats say that everything according to the rules must be done around the Prosecutorial Council, so that tomorrow's decisions would not be compromised in any way, and so that the Prosecutor's Office could deal with its job without any mortgages. And then DF blackmails. There is no session, gentlemen, because you put the choice of one man, your leader's lawyer, above the need to form a Prosecutorial Council and remove Katnić. And there is no price for which we will agree to that”, the Democrats emphasize.
According to the Democrats, the proposal for the election of members of the Prosecutorial Council can be considered at the plenum only and exclusively when it is determined by the parent committee, ie when an agreement and agreement is reached among the members of the parliamentary majority.
“It simply came to our notice then. Only in that way, because the goal is to build the state and institutions in the right way, and not as the DPS has been doing for decades, creating party institutions! We've seen that for the last 30 years, and we've fought against it. So, when the line is drawn, two things are clearly visible: all honorable and brave professionals, who applied for the Prosecutorial Council and about whom there is no dispute, are hostages of a man-party lawyer of the DF, whom Andrija Mandic and his boss Vucic impose from personal reasons, as well as because their goal is for our country to be blocked in negotiations with the EU, in order to profit in chaos, cause the overthrow of the government and return decades-old teammates to the saddle,” the Democrats point out.
In the end, gentlemen, the Democrats are telling the DF to make it extremely clear to you: The prosecution will be neither Andrija's, nor Aleksa's, nor Milo's, but independent, professional and state, which will work in the interest of the citizens of this country.
“And, the end point. And you, please, overthrow the Government. If you can,” the Democrats said in a statement.
