The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, published a video message on his Instagram profile in which he addresses Serbs in Montenegro.
Vučić said that the pressure on Serbia on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija was expected, as well as that the decision of the Montenegrin parliament would still be discussed and that Serbia would always stand up for the interests of its people in Montenegro.
“I am telling our people who live in Montenegro that we are with them! It is our job to keep our heads up, to fight and build peace. Long live Serbia and the Serbian people”, wrote Vučić with the video he posted on Instagram.
Vučić referred to the decision of the Montenegrin parliament to adopt the Resolution on Srebrenica.
Dear citizens of Serbia and Serbian peoples. In the previous days and weeks, we were exposed to great pressures. We expected them from all those who participated in the attempt to create the so-called independent Kosovo, and from all those who do not easily find the fact that Serbia is progressing economically and quickly the fastest in its history. We expected them from all those who would like to weaken Serbia precisely because of that, but we did not expect them from those who were always closest to us,” said Vucic.
The President of Serbia said that his message was sent to the Serbian people wherever they live, who must withstand attacks and pressure.
“It is neither our shame nor our fault, we just need to keep our heads high, work as much as possible, and fight even harder. Let's fight for our Serbia and all our citizens. To respond to every accusation, but to continue to build peace and preserve stability. That we do not insult anyone and do not do to anyone what they do to us, and what we do not like”, said Vučić.
Vučić said that Serbia would analyze all decisions of the Montenegrin parliament in the coming days, and said that no hasty solutions would be made.
“We will not insult those who made those decisions, against the interests of Serbia.” “According to those who made political decisions to harm Serbia, we will be able to treat them as they deserve,” Vucic added.
Vučić also says that he will be able to create a relationship “as the decision-makers deserve”.
“Never consulting Serbia, and those decisions concern Serbia and who are looking at how and in what way to insult our country and disgrace our people. We will always have an adequate answer for them. We don't have bosses in foreign embassies, we don't have them anywhere. People of Serbia, heads up, we will have more resolutions in the region,” the President of Serbia added.
