The Church of Serbia, with the help of the state of Serbia and obedient domestic contractors (DF, Democrats, URA, Vijesti and a good part of the non-governmental sector), took power in Montenegro almost a year ago.
The takeover was preceded by a long and unusual church revolution, which they called “LITIJA”. They were led by the now deceased Metropolitan Amfilohije, who rests under the tombstone with the engraved title, which no longer exists, because it served only for one-time use and deception of the unknown and naive believing “Litija” people.
The right hand of the late Amfilohije was also the priest Gojko Perović, whom almost everyone called “father” out of mercy. At that time, priest Gojko showed enviable populist demagogic skills, which is why he was one of the most beloved characters of this original church revolution.
Just as every revolution eats its children, so this church has already eaten its own. The metropolitan moved to that world from a disease (virus) which he did not really admit, and priest Gojko and other closest associates of Amfilohije, died in a real “slaughter of princes”, in a way that they were well removed, disempowered and ecclesiastically, hierarchically degraded.
The old phrase that “the revolution eats its children” describes the downfall of yesterday's deserving people, through the reckoning of prominent revolutionaries in the struggle for power. In this fight, after gaining power, the new metropolitan of the Church of Serbia, Joanikije, sent Amfilohije to that world, and with the help of his headquarters from Belgrade, he dealt with the priest Gojko and others like him.
This was a showdown with Amfilohije's false and deceitful ideology about some Montenegrin uniqueness and autonomy of the Montenegrin-coastal Metropolitanate, by which they recruited and attracted to their ranks, renouncing everything Montenegrin, many naive Montenegrins, using them to destroy their own state and everything Montenegrin.
With Joanikije's enthronement, the false bequest and the legacy of Amfilohije collapsed, because obviously, they no longer need a false story about uniqueness and autonomy. Now comes the old and well-known story behind which they hid for a long time, that Montenegro has always been exclusively a Serbian country, that Montenegrins, their history, culture, language and everything else that has always made them a nation, never existed.
Whether a part of the hitherto faithful and deceived people will understand the essence of this and this kind of deception remains to be seen.
As for Priest Gojko, I would not be surprised if he is so skilled in politics, populism, lies and demagoguery, all in the mantle of a parish priest, to quickly become one of the high officials of URA, which served him and Amfilohije well and faithfully.
Their ideological closeness has been tested and confirmed in the last two years, and the new electorate of URA would welcome such a transfer with enthusiasm, because the time has come for each party to have its own priest.
Priest Gojko could also be a new editor or at least a columnist for “Vijesti”, and that would not surprise me either, because their current readership would certainly accept that.
That is how the revolution of the Church of Serbia ended. Now an open card game is being played. It is quite clear who is who, but everyone has forgotten that betrayal is not forgotten and not forgiven.
