PRESERVED FACE OF MONTENEGRO Leposavic removed by DPS votes and Resolution on Srebrenica adopted, Democrats remain on demagoguery

The removal of Leposavic by the votes of the DPS, whose deputies temporarily returned to the plenary sessions due to this item on the agenda and the Resolution on Srebrenica, shows that the current government of Zdravko Krivokapic does not have the support of most ruling parties, and in fact has no legitimacy.

Today, the deputies in the Assembly voted on several acts that they discussed in the previous period – the dismissal of the Minister of Justice Vladimir Leposavic was voted, the Resolution on Srebrenica was adopted, as well as the Law on the Budget for 2021.

The resolution on Srebrenica and the dismissal of Minister Leposavic were voted on thanks to DPS deputies who, as Aktuleno announced, temporarily returned to the plenary session.

Deputies of the Democratic Party of Socialists returned to the Assembly to attend the vote for the removal of Leposavic and for the adoption of the Resolution in Srebrenica.

Return of the DPS to save the face of Montenegro

Tonight, at the request of the Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, members of the Parliament of Montenegro fired the Minister of Human and Minority Rights, Vladimir Leposavić.

43 deputies voted for the removal of Leposavic, 27 were against, while 10 deputies abstained. After such a decision of the parliament, the DF announced a boycott. Deputies from DPS, SD, SDP, LP, BS and the ruling URA voted in favor of the minister's dismissal following his denial of the Srebrenica genocide. The Democratic Front and their coalition partners were against, and 10 deputies from the Peace is Our Nation coalition, gathered around the Democrats, abstained.

After the dismissal of Leposavic was voted on, the head of the DF Parliamentary Club, Slaven Radunovic, announced that voter fraud had taken place.

“There was a fraud of voters, an unprincipled coalition of the DPS and parts of the Government, and I call on all those who received votes on August 30 to gather as soon as possible and agree on what to do next.” Until then, until we agree on that, we will not come to the plenum. We reset the situation to zero and ask for an agreement. May the DPS be happy for you”, said Radunović.

Tonight, members of the Parliament of Montenegro also voted for the Resolution on Srebrenica.

55 deputies voted in favor, 19 deputies of the DF and coalition partners were against, and seven abstained.

DF MP Simonida Kordić explained the amendments to the text of the Resolution on Srebrenica, but they were not adopted.

On behalf of the proponents, the president of the Bosniak Party, Ervin Ibrahimovic, said that no blame could be attributed to one nation.

“The guilt is individual. The motion for a resolution is for the purpose of reconciliation. “We have sent a clear signal that Montenegro is the center of democracy in the region,” he said.

DPS saved the face of Montenegro, Democrats convicted hypocrites

The removal of Leposavic by the votes of the DPS, whose deputies temporarily returned to the plenary sessions due to this item on the agenda and the Resolution on Srebrenica, shows that the current government of Zdravko Krivokapic does not have the support of most ruling parties, and in fact has no legitimacy.

Dragan Krapović and Boris Bogdanović: Anti-fascists only in words

The majority of government deputies agree in the assessment that Krivokapić's government has in fact fallen, and that this should only be formally stated.

As for the DPS, the party proved to be a pillar of civic and anti-fascist values, while on the opposite side, a political option crystallized around the Democratic Front, which openly sided with Minister Leposavic and his denial of the Srebrenica genocide.

By voting against the removal of Leposavic and the Resolution on Srebrenica, they proved that they are undisguised bearers of Greater Serbia policy and supporters of the ideology of the 1990s, which unfortunately still has a foothold in the part of the electorate close to the Serbian Orthodox Church.

While the political and ideological situation with the DPS and DF is clear, the Democrat deputies who did not vote for the removal of Leposavic, have already abstained, who knows how many times they have shown that they are unseen political hypocrites and demagogues who pretend to be they stand for democratic values by hiding behind hollow phrases and phrases.

This time, they showed that they are inclined to support the policy of genocide, and their excuse that they did not vote for the removal of Leposavic because it was supported by the Democratic Party of Socialists is so miserable that it is unnecessary to comment on it.

After today's dismissal of Leposavic, for which they did not vote, the Democrats are in an extremely awkward position, because they will have to explain their actions to partners from the West who have wholeheartedly invested in them as a “civic political option”.

As for the URA, it is obvious that their vote for the removal of Leposavic was forced, because if they had voted against, they could have started thinking about closing down the party. However, their leaders would not mind voting against the removal of the minister who supported the genocide, just to stay in their seats.

The Parliament of Montenegro adopted the Law on the Budget of Montenegro for 2021. 42 deputies voted for the budget.
