Knezevic: Sorry, Serbia and the Serbian people

Knezevic also emphasized that the legitimacy of the president of the assembly, Aleksa Becic, was also questioned, since his party, together with the DPS, voted for the resolution.

I want to apologize to the whole of Serbia and the Serbian people for what happened in the parliament, because it is not the majority of Montenegro, Milan Knezevic from the Democratic Front told TV Prva this morning, because the Montenegrin parliament adopted the Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide.

“None of the citizens who voted for changes in Montenegro and against Milo Đukanović could have thought that the majority of the parliamentary majority would declare Serbia and the Serbian people genocidal. I feel a certain amount of shame, even though I voted against that resolution, he said.

Knezevic emphasized that Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic was told before the vote that if the resolution on Srebrenica and the removal of Minister Vladimir Leposavic are voted on together with the DPS, he will no longer have the support of the DF and will no longer formally consider him prime minister.

DF deputies left the parliament after the vote, and Knezevic told his coalition partners Aleksa Becic and Dritan Abazovic that if they give up making an agreement with the DPS and show readiness to return to the original and election program principles, there is a possibility of renewing relations.

Knezevic also emphasized that the legitimacy of the president of the assembly, Aleksa Becic, was also questioned, since his party, together with the DPS, voted for the resolution.

He did not want to speculate on the possible successors of Krivokapic, but said that there are a large number of people in the parliamentary majority who would perform the function of prime minister with honor and responsibility.

If there is no agreement, the logical path is new elections organized by the transitional government, which would be the last proposal of the DF, Knezevic concluded.

The Minister of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, Vladimir Leposavic, was removed from the Parliament of Montenegro, which adopted the resolution on Srebrenica by a majority of votes, at the suggestion of the opposition Bosniak Party.
