The president of the Committee for Security and Defense and DNP MP Milan Knežević said that it is a brutal untruth that he revealed secret information from the session of the Security and Defense Committee, for which he was accused by the chief special prosecutor (SDT) Milivoje Katnić.
“In the absence of arguments and completely exposed by irrefutable evidence of his intention to cover up the clues leading to Milo Đukanović and Duško Marković, relating to the wiretapping affair, Milivoje Katnić told the brutal untruth that I revealed secret information at a session of the Security and Defense Committee”, stated Knežević in response to Katnić statement submitted to the RTCG Portal.
According to Knežević, “Vijesti” published secret information from the Committee session.
“I openly doubt that Milivoje Katnić placed them, and for what reasons, I believe that an independent investigation by the new prosecutor's office will determine that. That is why I call on the competent authorities to launch an investigation into how the information from the session of the Committee appeared in Vijesti with filled spins in order to divert the direction of the investigation from Milo Đukanović and Duško Marković. And if I presented secret information, as the SDT claims, and I claim that I did not, I call on Milivoje Katnić to immediately initiate proceedings against me, and I will not invoke parliamentary immunity,” Knežević said in response to the SDT statement.
According to Knežević, it is neither the first nor the last time for the SDT to settle accounts with him.
“In any case, I have already announced that I will file a criminal complaint against Milivoje Katnić for abuse of office and an attempt to obstruct the investigation into the wiretapping and mounting indictment affair in the event of a coup. As for Katnić's position that he will not come to the Committee sessions again, let him not worry. After what I heard at the session of the Committee yesterday, I will not call him again, because I have to protect the reputation of the Assembly, and there is a well-founded suspicion that he will convey everything he hears at the Committee to Zoran Lazović. That is why he left the session before the vote on the Report”, said Knežević.
Knežević told Katnić that he would not stop him from exposing this and, as he adds, many other scandals, or, as Knežević adds, he will not be the president of the Committee.
“And I am not asking for any security, but I am telling everyone that I and my family members will defend myself with all available means. It is time for justice, but also to see who is a spy and who is a traitor of Montenegro. I know for myself and my family that we are not”, concluded Knežević.
