Djukanovic: I condemn the threats made by Kruscic Vasovic, the safety of journalists is a fundamental value of any democratic society

The President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, strongly condemned the threats made to the RTCG journalist Slavica Kruščić Vasović.

“I strongly condemn the threats made to RTCG journalist Slavica Kruščić Vasović via social networks. I expect the competent institutions to discover and prosecute the perpetrators as soon as possible, because the safety and protection of journalists are fundamental values ​​of any democratic society,” Djukanovic wrote on Twitter.

According to him, lately, unfortunately, we are witnessing more and more that deviant behavior towards those who think differently is encouraged.

“As a society, we must show dignity, even though we live in a time in which even the most prominent actors of the political scene do not show it,” Djukanovic concluded.

Najoštrije osuđujem prijetnje upućene novinarki RTCG Slavici Kruščić Vasović putem društvenih mreža. Očekujem od nadležnih institucija da u najkraćem roku otkriju i procesuiraju počinioce jer su sigurnost i zaštita novinara temeljne vrijednosti svakog demokratskog društva.
