There are global political upheavals in the region inspired by the idea of forming larger states, which are retrograde ideas that have been disastrous in the past. That is the message that President Milo Đukanović sent during the meeting of the head of European diplomacy, Joseph Borrell, with the leaders of the Western Balkans in New York, RTCG reports.
“I introduced them to the problems that Montenegro is facing today, bearing in mind that we feel strong reflections of global disturbances in the region and that these global disturbances have led to the awakening of political retrograde ideas, mostly inspired by the recomposition of borders on the WB and creating conditions for enlarged states, nationally and religiously homogeneous. It seems to me that all interlocutors understood these warnings very well, and together we called on the EU, with the initiation of Mr. Borrell, to make additional efforts to help WB in order to reach its European perspective in the near future,” said Djukanovic.
He said he had warned them that this threatened the stability of the entire Balkans.
