Dejan Perunicic suspected of abuse of authorities: It is to be determined whether Bulatovic's death has anything to do with the wiretapping case

Former director of the National Security Agency (ANB), Dejan Perunicic, and former agent of the secret escort, Srdja Pavicevic, are already on trial for illegal recording and monitoring of several people.

This morning, members of the special police department arrested the former director of the National Security Agency, Dejan Perunicic. We remind you that the Special State Prosecutor's Office earlier initiated a reconnaissance against Perunicic.

As some media reported, an eavesdropping device was found last week, which the ANB suspects was installed during the period when Perunicic was the director of the secret police.

The Special State Prosecutor's Office announced today that it formed a case based on evidence and information due to the finding of a technical device suspected of being a wiretapping device in the office of the Chief Special Prosecutor.

“When we received that information, we carried out an investigation, found the means, and then carried out a reconnaissance during which the evidentiary actions were taken, and we determined the place for receiving the signal. Based on that, one person whose initials are D.P. is arrested on suspicion of abusing his official position. This person will be brought to the competent prosecutor's office and further evidence and facts will be determined,” said special prosecutor Miroslav Turkovic at today's press conference.

As they added, it is being determined to whom the recorded materials were forwarded, and it is suspected that the recording was ordered by the ANB.

– Certain actions are still being taken to determine whether the suicide of former ANB official Luka Bulatovic is connected to the case of wiretapping – the SDT added.

The SDT said that it is not yet known whether the former ANB official Luka Bulatovic committed suicide, but that the facts now indicate that.

– There is always a suspicion that a murder was committed, so the police went to the field and found indicators that the SDT could get involved – they explained from the SDT.

According to the assessment from the SDT, the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Zoran Miljanic, with yesterday's statement incited to commit the criminal act of revealing an official secret by stating that the public must know whose lives Bulatovic could have saved.

When asked by journalists whether the publication of Bulatovic's recordings in the media, ie the evidence, violated the law, the SDT claimed that no misdemeanor had been committed.

– These are addresses to friends, family, they cannot jeopardize the new investigation. They can cause speculation and confusion, but it always happens. We reviewed the recordings and saw that there was nothing that could have a negative connotation and cause consequences – the SDT said.

It is stated that Perunicic will not be detained for up to 72 hours if there are no conditions and need for that.

Former director of the National Security Agency, Dejan Perunicic, and former agent of the secret escort, Srdja Pavicevic, are already on trial for illegal recording and monitoring of several people.

The Belivuk case

When asked who and to whom asked to lift the ban on Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljkovic entering Montenegro, the SDT said that they did not determine who lifted the ban, but whether there were elements of a criminal act in some actions.

– We have initiated the procedure on the criminal report of one person, against another person, during the investigation it will be determined whether the criminal report will be rejected or the procedure will continue – said the chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnic.
