ANTI-FASCIST ANSWER: DPS returns to the Assembly to vote for the removal of Leposavic

As we learn from sources close to the DPS parliamentary club, the reason why they will end the boycott is, as we were told, "because anti-fascist and European values for this party are in the first place and above any daily political issues, no matter how important it is." '

Deputies of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will temporarily end the boycott of the plenary sessions of the Parliament of Montenegro and will come to the session where they will vote for the removal of the Minister of Justice Vladimir Leposavic, Aktuelno finds out.

If the dismissal is voted today, the DPS will come to the polls.

As we learn from sources close to the DPS parliamentary club, the reason why they will end the boycott is, as we were told, “because anti-fascist and European values for this party are in the first place and above any daily political issues, no matter how important it is.”

“DPS will come to the plenary hall where they will vote for the removal of Leposavic and then leave. The deputies of that party want to point out that they do not have a dilemma when it comes to basic European values”, sources close to the parliamentary club of this party told us.

Yesterday, the members of the Montenegrin parliament discussed the proposal for the dismissal of the Minister of Justice, Minority and Human Rights, Vladimir Leposavic, and the session was marked by a heated debate that at times threatened to turn into an incident.

On April 6, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic submitted to the Assembly a proposal for the dismissal of Leposavic because of his views on the denial of the genocide in Srebrenica, which he presented in the Assembly.

Krivokapic stated in the explanation that Leposavic's public actions, from the election to the position of minister until the day of submitting the proposal for his dismissal, largely deviated from the official positions of the Government and the agreement signed in September last year.

The Democratic Front said that they would not vote for the removal of Leposavic, while the Democrats said that they would not vote for the removal, if it is supported by the Democratic Party of Socialists.

The Democrats are in an extremely awkward position on this occasion, because if they do not vote for the removal of Leposavic, they will have to explain their actions to their partners from the West.

Today, it is also planned to vote on the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, which the ruling majority is trying to “dilute” with a multitude of amendments. This would make a resolution that would refer to all crimes in the former Yugoslavia, not just Srebrenica.

It should be reminded that the deputies of DF, SNP, UCG and RP submitted amendments to the Draft Resolution on Srebrenica. One of the amendments envisages deleting the word genocide in Srebrenica and adding words to crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire former Yugoslavia, so that the title of the Draft Resolution would be the Resolution on Crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the whole of the former Yugoslavia.

As we find out, URA will not accept those amendments because that party allegedly supports the Resolution on Srebrenica in the form proposed by the Bosniak Party.

It is clear that the ruling majority is deeply divided on the issue of removing Leposavic, but also Srebrenica, so after the vote in the Assembly, additional turbulence of the government should be expected.
