Abazovic new prime minister?

Is "implementing other people's priorities" the main recommendation to Dritan Abazovic for the position of Prime Minister of Montenegro?

Judging by the announcements of one of the leaders of the ruling Democratic Front, Milan Knezevic, a solution to the political crisis in Montenegro is on the horizon. Visiting the “Hit-tweet” show on Belgrade's Pink Television, Knezevic indirectly confirmed on Sunday night what the Montenegrin public has been speculating about for days: Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic could soon take over place of the Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic. Knežević also said that the key is in the hands of the head of the Montenegrin parliament, Aleksa Bečić, and that he sees a way out and the existing situation in the dismissal of Zdravko Krivokapić and the election of a new prime minister from the ranks of the parliamentary majority.

“I think that Dritan Abazovic is ready to elect a new prime minister,” said Milan Knezevic.

Speaking about the Resolution on Srebrenica, which was adopted by the Montenegrin parliament last week, Knezevic reiterated that the document was not written in Montenegro.

“This Resolution is even more shameful than the shameful recognition of the so-called Kosovo. If it had been written in Montenegro, it would never have been written, because the majority of the Montenegrin population opposes it. This is a general campaign against Serbia. They blamed their own people. Parts of the parliamentary unit must not even mention Jasenovac” – said Knežević, adding that Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić is a “walking denial”.

Knezevic reiterated that the Government of Montenegro practically no longer exists, and that it does not reflect the electoral will of the citizens.

“The DF will not tolerate the humiliation of the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro,” Knezevic said. Last Sunday, a burst of fire from all Belgrade media under the direct control of President Aleksandar Vučić was directed at the current Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and Parliament Speaker Aleksa Bečić, who were accused of “trafficking” due to the fact that the Montenegrin Parliament adopted the Resolution on Srebrenica. Serbian interests ”and for the betrayal of the state. Neighboring! Although the Montenegrin Parliament and GP URA supported the adoption of this important document, Serbia apparently forgave Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic for this “sin”: unlike the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament, the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro was never mentioned in the Belgrade media.

Montenegrin writer Andrej Nikolaidis, in his column on CDM, asked a “million dollar question” yesterday:

“Why don't Serbian tabloids, which in Montenegro, from high up, burp fire like the beast described in Revelation (13, 13), in their bursts of curses, insults and lies, mention Dritan Abazovic? Did Dritan's deputies, just like Djukanovic's, just like Becic's, vote for the Srebrenica Resolution? They are. So how come, in the interpretation of Vučić's propaganda machinery, Bečić, Đukanović and Krivokapić are traitors, Serb haters, Jews and Brankovićs, and Dritan is not all that? ”

The answer to the same question was sought by numerous users of social networks. Only on Sunday afternoon, Vice President Abazović spoke up, telling Vijesti that the political crisis in Montenegro was oversized.

“We have to affirm the civic concept and European policy and all our decisions must be compatible with those goals. There is no discussion about that… I am ready for a dialogue with colleagues and it is very necessary at this moment. “Both the prime minister and the leaders of the parties of the parliamentary majority know that the way out of this situation is in talks and agreements,” said the Deputy Prime Minister, and reminded that all similar crises of the current parliamentary majority were “overcome in a pretty good way”.

Is it “good” for any sovereign country to have its political problems solved in this way? Is it “good” that the way out of the political crisis in Montenegro is announced in the media under the direct control of President Vučić? Is it “good” that the Prime Minister of Montenegro is elected by a neighboring country? How is it that both the head of the Serbian parliament and one of the owners of the Vijesti concern asked the same institution – the Serbian Orthodox Church – to get involved in resolving the dispute within the ruling majority in Montenegro? Is Montenegro still a secular state? Why is Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic equally acceptable to the Serbian Orthodox Church and President Aleksandar Vucic and the Vijesti concern? And to Matija Bećković, of course, who promised on August 30, 2020 that “if Dritan arrives in Belgrade tomorrow, the Serbian youth will carry him in their arms”? If he is elected the new prime minister, will Abazović sign parts of the basic agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church that Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić did not want? Will it oppose Serbia's intention to buy Elektroprivreda, the Port of Bar, to buy a Chinese loan, or will it, when / if it comes on the agenda, remain relaxed? Was the historian and one of the founders of URA, Sherbo Rastoder, right when the movement led by Dritan Abazovic recently accused him of “implementing other people's priorities, which are absolutely inconsistent with our program commitments”, which they will “defend” with the need to accelerate reforms and joining the EU”?

Finally, is “implementing other people's priorities” the main recommendation to Dritan Abazović for the position of Prime Minister of Montenegro?

The public in Montenegro will soon have to get answers to the questions asked. Until then – relaxed!
